Jhanak 8th September 2024 Written Update: The episode begins with the wedding rituals of Appu, whose marriage has been arranged with Lalan. Appu’s grandmother asks the new groom to take care of her, describing Appu as an innocent girl who will bring love to Lalan’s family. Lalan promises to give her freedom and treat her well. Meanwhile, Ajanta becomes very emotional and tries to hide her tears. Her husband comforts her. Bablu, Appu’s father, is hopeful that his daughter will be safe and happy. He regrets not trusting Shubha earlier, who had arranged everything for Appu’s wedding.
During the wedding, Appu asks Jhanak to sit beside her. Though Jhanak hesitates, she eventually joins the rituals. Suddenly, a group of police officers arrives at the Bose family home and asks for Lalan Chatterjee. Appu, frightened, asks Lalan why the police are there. Lalan approaches the officers, but to everyone’s shock, the police announce they have a warrant for his arrest. Lalan’s sister questions why they are arresting him, as he has committed no crime. The police accuse Lalan of being involved in a recent robbery. Shubho pretends to be supportive of Lalan and insists he’s innocent.
Jhanak and Lalan’s sister are shocked by the accusation. Jhanak demands to know if the police have any evidence, but the officers assure everyone that they wouldn’t have come without proof. Lalan confronts Shubho, asking why he betrayed him. Shubho, pretending to be shocked, denies having any part in the situation. Suddenly, Anuradha, Lalan’s mother, appears, panicked. She begs the police, saying her son did nothing wrong and explaining how their family, once wealthy, was betrayed by a lawyer friend of her husband.
The slum’s residents protest the arrest, threatening to continue their resistance if Lalan is taken away. Before leaving with the police, Lalan completes the wedding rituals by applying vermilion on Appu’s forehead, officially marrying her. Shubho is unable to stop the wedding. Aniruddha, standing by Lalan’s side, refuses to believe the accusations, even when his parents try to intervene. Jhanak insists on going to the police station with Lalan to uncover the truth. The episode ends.
